Our rules
Never scraped. Never sponsored.
This is the deal. Tastely works because you can trust every recommendation on it — and that trust has rules.
Real places, real visits
Every spot on Tastely was added by someone who actually went there. We don't scrape listings, import from review sites, or pull from maps. If it's here, a person stood inside it.
Say so if you're connected
Own the place? Work there? Been compensated in any way? Disclose the connection when you add or vouch for it. Disclosure is required — but it isn't permission: it doesn't let you promote your own spot, and quiet promotion gets removed. Disclosure isn't a recommendation either: a listing with a disclosed connection still has to earn verification and vouching like everything else.
A vouch is a promise
When you mark a spot visited, you're vouching for it — telling your people it's worth their time. That's why everything is ordered by vouches from your friends first, then curators you follow, then the wider community.
No one can buy their way in
No spot may pay Tastely to appear, rank higher, or be featured — disclosed or not. There's no paid placement, no sponsored slots, and no pay-to-play, for restaurants, brands, or anyone. Disclosure never makes a paid placement allowed.
Curators earn it
The curator badge isn't applied for, it's noticed. Cross the thresholds — 15 visits, 20 vouched spots, 50+ community vouches — and you'll get an invitation. It's recognition, not a job.
Cities open when people map them
A city unlocks once enough members have added real spots there. Until then it's still being mapped — which means you could be the one to open it.
